Youssef Kamal

Youssef Kamal is a data and AI leader with 10 years of experience in building and leading data teams across fintech, healthcare, and e-commerce. He currently serves as the Director of Data at ADVA, a leading consumer finance fintech, where he oversees data strategy, infrastructure, credit scoring, and advanced analytics.

He is the founder of People of Data, Egypt’s largest AI and data community, uniting over 1,500 engineers and scientists to foster learning, innovation, and real-world impact. He also serves as a board member at Euclid Data Science Consultancy, delivering AI- and data-driven solutions for startups and SMEs.

Youssef’s journey spans startups in Berlin and Budapest, where he contributed to product and AI teams, and Cairo, where he built multiple data science teams from scratch. He is also a senior AI and data science instructor at Udacity, training hundreds of professionals and business leaders across the MENA region.

He holds three master’s degrees, including a Master’s in Business Energy Engineering from TU Berlin, and is currently pursuing both an Executive MBA and a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence. Deeply passionate about using technology for impact, Youssef is currently working on AI-driven healthcare initiatives to improve access for millions in Egypt and is a founding partner in a national foundation focused on social development.
